Drayen starts his musical career with drums. In 1994, aged of 15 years, he takes drums lessons with a teacher from the CNR in St Denis (Reunion Island). On the side, he learns to play the accoustic guitar as an autodidact. From 1995 to 1997, he appears on various musical rock bands, as a drum player and a singer. When he arrives in France, he plays the bass in a progressive rock band (Taksim), from 1997 to 1999, and then plays the guitar in various jazz, funk and rock bands (from 1999 to 2004). He starts teaching the guitar in 2002 at the Atelier Musical, and still works there at the present time. Drayen followed intensive studies at the Jazz à Tours Music School and obtained in 2005 the FNEIJ/MA certificate.

- Concert in London, at the Jazz Café, as the guitarist of the Massak Afrobeat Orchestra (February 2002). - Nya Azania French Tour 2003. - Concert with Electrogène (jazz fusion trio of the bass player Julien Rascagnères), accompanied by the drums player Philippe Laurent (drums teacher at the school Tous en Scene). (June 2004) - 3 gigs with the band Yakoma (June 2004) - Plays at the Emergences festival in Tours (June 2004). - Plays the guitar with the backing band Strate 4 Ward for the Tribute to Bob Marley, with Nassadjah, Nya Azania and Jornick. (February 2005) - Several shows with the afro funk band Yakoma. (May-June 2005) - Several shows with the gospel band Maniwata. (2004 - 2005)
